Graham Mott serves as Research Liaison for the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship. He works with faculty to determine if research being conducted at JMU has commercial potential and to bridge the gap between research and market/customer needs.  He also works with potential third parties that might be interested in the results of JMU research either to sponsor research or to partner for commercialization of research.

Graham Mott was awarded a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Waterloo in 1980. He began his career as Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh before joining Hoechst Celanese, where he enjoyed over 20 years in Chemical and Pharmaceutical research and development, finally as Global Head of Technology Management. In 2004, he joined Royal Dutch Philips where, in recent years as an expat in Amsterdam, he was head of M&A, Business Development, and Intellectual Property for their Health and Wellness division.
