James Madison University Recreation will host the 2017 VRSA Conference October 5 and 6, 2017, at UREC in Harrisonburg, VA. The 2017 VRSA Conference is a unique opportunity where Virginia and surrounding area institutions gather to share knowledge, skills, and exciting new trends in recreation. 

VRSA is an organization dedicated to fostering and enhancing the quality of recreational sports programs throughout the state of Virginia that models meetings, policies, publications, and goals on the philosophy of NIRSA, Leaders in Collegiate Recreation.

2017 VRSA Conference Theme

The 2017 VRSA Conference theme is "The WHOLE Student." W.H.O.L.E. is an acronym for Well-being, High impact, Opportunities, Leadership, and Engaged learning!

Well-Being – Integrated Approach to Wellness (Learn More)

Presentation Proposals

The session proposal submission deadline was July 14, 2017 and submitters will be notified by July 31, 2017 if their session has been accepted. Presenters will need to pay for registration and accomodations.

          10 am                   Pre-Workshop Sessions Begin (All costs are included in your normal registration)

Travel, Parking & Hotel Accommodations

Hotel and travel accommodations must be made by the attendee. 

UREC is located at 701 Driver Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22807. Call our Welcome Center at (540) 568-8737.

Parking: Conference attendees that are JMU campus visitors should park in the conference designated lot: Convo F Lot. Parking in any other lot may result in ticketing. All regulations for JMU students, faculty and staff will remain in effect, and students attending the event are required to park in appropriate student parking lots with a JMU parking permit. Guests are prohibited from parking in specialty spaces such as Service Vehicle spaces, handicap spaces without proper permit, expired timed spaces, or parking in Fire Lanes.
