Jay is the Graduate Assistant for Student Training and Development and is pursuing a graduate degree in Campus Recreation Leadership. He is expected to graduate in May of 2019. He was born in Woodstock, VA and obtained his B.S. in Justice Studies from James Madison University in May 2014.

During college, Jay worked as a Member Services Assistant and Informal Recreational Assistant at UREC. Outside of UREC, Jay was volunteered as an umpire for the Woodstock Edinburg Little League and as an assistant basketball coach with the Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation. He was also a Scoreboard Operator for The Woodstock River Bandits, a Valley Baseball League Team. Before returning to JMU, Jay worked as a Patrol Deputy with the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office.

Jay is an avid college football and baseball fan. In his spare time, he likes to golf, go to the movies, and explore new places with his wife, Taylore, and Great Pyrenees, Bella!
