Group Exercise Policies

Participants are expected to follow all UREC Policies and University Policies.

GROUP EXERCISE AND MIND/BODY STUDIOS

  • Wear appropriate exercise attire and footwear.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before class. Doors lock immediately at the start of class. Late participants are not permitted to enter.
  • Keep the floor clear. Personal belongings must be kept in cubbies or lockers.
  • After class, wipe down equipment and put it back in designated area.
  • Only water or sport drinks in re-sealable sports bottles are permitted.  Food and other beverages must be consumed in the Atrium.
  • No chewing gum.

MULTI-PURPOSE STUDIO

  • Closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn at all times.
  • No clothing that can damage upholstered equipment permitted.
  • Keep the floor clear. Personal belongings must be kept in cubbies or lockers.
  • Do not remove equipment from designated areas. Equipment may only be used for its designated purpose.
  • No chalk.
  • Wipe down equipment after use.
  • The space must be vacated for classes.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled classes. Doors lock immediately at the start of class. Late participants are not permitted to enter.

CLASS OR PROGRAM CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel your registration, visit or call the UREC Welcome Center at 540-568-8734 at least 1 hour prior to the start of class. If you do not cancel and do not show up on time for a class, you are considered a "no-show participant." If you no-show three times in one semester, you will lose your online registration privileges for the remainder of that semester.
