Racquetball & Wallyball Court Reservations

UREC has 6 courts for Racqueball and Wallyball use. Racquetball is a game played on a four-walled court by two or four players with short-handled rackets and a hollow rubber ball. Wallyball is a game similar to volleyball played on a four-walled court with a ball the same size as but harder than a volleyball that is allowed to bounce once off the ceiling or once off the walls before being returned over the net.

There is no fee for JAC/UREC holders to reserve a court for informal recreation. Reservations may be made in person or by phone (540-568-8722) up to 24 hours in advance.

Reservations can be made in 30-minute intervals with a one-hour maximum per court per JACard. Courts are available by first come first serve basis. Wallyball cannot be scheduled on court 4 because the glass wall prohibits the net to be set up properly.

Those reserving by phone must check in at the Equipment Center when they arrive to receive their court assignment. A grace period of 15 minutes is built into all reservations.  If the reserving party fails to show within the grace period, the court becomes available again.

You can purchase racquetballs using FLEX at the Equipment Center. You can check out racquetball racquets and goggles at the Equipment Center.

Wallyball equipment is checked out from the Equipment Center and set-up by the participants.

Please leave the court promptly at the conclusion of your reservation time!
