Access Cards

Spouse Access Cards
Spouse URAC cards (University Recreation Access Cards) are offered to spouses of full-time students, faculty and staff, for access during all UREC’s operational hours without the company of their host.  To apply for a Spouse URAC card, click on the appropriate application link:

Once the application has been approved, the Host will be notified by email (within two to three business days) of approval and how the spouse will obtain the Spouse URAC Card.  There is a one-time processing fee of $10 (paid to JMU Card Services) if the card is renewed every year before July 1.

Dependent Access Cards
Dependent URAC cards are offered for access during special break hours, such as Summer, Winter, and Spring Breaks; and give dependents access to the UREC Center without the company of their host. Dependent URAC cards are offered to dependents (between the ages of 18-23) of full time students, faculty, and staff . To apply for a dependent URAC card click on the application link:

Alumni Memberships
UREC offers any established JMU Alumni the opportunity to utilize our facilities and variety of services. Alumni will be verified based on the records kept by the Office of Alumni Relations. Alumni members can participate in many types of activities and programs that are sure to meet their fitness needs and goals. Access includes Outdoor Synthetic Turf Field, Basketball Courts, Racquetball Court,s Walleyball Courts, Tennis Courts, Table Tennis, Cardio Equipment, Weight Training Equipment, Climbing Wall, Indoor Track, Indoor Pool, Sauna, Spa, Equipment Rentals, and Towel/Locker Rentals. Alumni Memberships can not be used for programs requiring registration.

  • Individual: For JMU graduates to gain access to UREC during Alumni Access hours, family hours and break hours. Alumni members will not have the option to participate in any programs and/or activities that require registration. Individual members can access UREC Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 2:00pm and 9:00pm - 11:30pm, Friday: 6:30am - 2:00pm and 6:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am - 10pm, Sunday: Noon - 6:00pm and 9:00pm - 11:30pm. Building hours subject to change during University breaks and holidays.
  • Individual Plus Spouse: For Alumni to purchase membership for their spouse. Individual Plus Spouse members will have access to UREC during Alumni Access hours, family hours and break hours. Individual Plus Spouse members will not have the option to participate in any programs and/or activities that require registration. Individual Plus Spouse members can access UREC Monday - Thursday: 6:30am - 2:00pm and 9:00pm - 11:30pm, Friday: 6:30am - 2:00pm and 6:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday: 9:00am - 10pm, Sunday: Noon - 6:00pm and 9:00pm - 11:30pm. Building hours subject to change during University breaks and holidays.
  • Dependents: For Alumni to purchase limited access for dependents. The Dependent's Membership can not be purchased without the purchasing of an Individual Membership or Individual Plus Spouse membership and must be done at the beginning of a contract.  Dependents must be accompanied by an Alumni Access Card (AAC) holder at all times. Dependent members will not have the option to participate in any programs and/or activities that require registration. Dependent's Membership will only have access to the facility during family hours (Friday, 6:00 pm - Sunday, 6:00 pm) and University break hours. Building hours subject to change during University breaks and holidays.

Parking Information
You have the option of purchasing a parking permit (paid to Parking Services) that will allow them to park in a designated lot near UREC during access hours in order to visit the facility. Parking permits must be purchased at the Parking Office located in the Parking Deck. If members choose not to purchase a parking pass they will need to find other means of transportation to the facility.
