Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge
Help JMU win the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge Fall 2015! 57 schools who will go head-to-head, competing to see who can get the most people in their communities outside and active: think Mother Nature meets March Madness. Competition begins September 6 through October 17. Participating individuals at each school must self-report on their outdoor activities online for their school to receive credit. Participation in an outdoor activity (list below) through UREC or on your own counts during the challenge.
- Adventure Racing
- Bird-watching / Wildlife-watching
- Restoration and trail maintenance
- Gardening (Chores don’t count!)
- Walking - fun and fitness
- Water activities (outdoor)
- Yoga (outdoor)
- Outdoor clinics /training /events
- Outdoor games (Frisbee, horseshoes, etc.)
A photo is required to log an activity, so make sure to take a photo (safely) while engaging with the outdoors!
Join us for the Shenandoah River Festival (9/13) which is free of cost because of our participation in the ON Campus Challenge. Spend an afternoon on the river at the Town of Shenandoah River Park. Lunch and music will be provided. Open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community. REGISTER NOW!
