John joined the UREC team as the Technology Manager in 2008.  John troubleshoots technology issues, ensures the computers are up and running and performs database maintenance.

John graduated from Virginia Tech where he received his undergraduate degree in Information Systems. He earned his Master’s Degree in Security Information Systems from George Washington University.  Before joining the UREC team, John was Consultant for the government with PEC Solutions. 

John is from Northern Virginia.  In July 2008, he was married in Greece to his wife, Olga.  John enjoys playing sports, especially basketball and football, and playing videogames on his PS3, especially Madden.  His favorite activities at UREC are lifting weights and playing in the lunch time JMU faculty/staff basketball games.  His favorite things about UREC are the people and their friendly attitudes and he feels that everyone is willing to help right away.  John’s favorite quote is, “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” by Albert Einstein.  His favorite movie is Braveheart, his favorite show is Two & Half Men and his favorite type of music is country.
