Kristin Gibson joined UREC as the Coordinator of Marketing and Development in 2008.  Kristin supervises the student marketing team, manages UREC’s website, coordinates fundraising efforts, works with the UREC Alumni Chapter and generally promotes UREC’s facilities and services.  Kristin is the contact for advertisements or sponsorships in UREC.  Follow Kristin on Twitter for UREC updates!

Kristin graduated from JMU in 2006 with a double major in Media Arts & Design and Communication Studies.  While at JMU, she worked in the offices of Development and Orientation and was a member of Student Ambassadors. She is working toward earning her Master's Degree in College Student Personnel Administration at JMU. 

Prior to UREC, Kristin served as the Marketing Assistant at a law firm in Washington, D.C.  She also worked for a professional services marketing agency.  Kristin is a member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA). Kristin proudly serves on the SMAD Alumni/Professional Advisory Council and the Student Affairs/University Planning Employee Newsletter Committee.

Kristin grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia (Go Eagles/Phillies!).  She is happily married to her husband Kevin, a JMU grad who works in JMU Alumni Relations.  She also likes play with her dog Peanut, run, play sports, make crafts and take on small home improvement projects.  Kristin’s favorite activities to participate in at UREC are intramural softball and group fitness classes.  Her favorite thing about UREC is working with fantastic JMU students and loves that her position encourages her to live a healthy lifestyle.  Kristin’s favorite TV show is Wipeout and her favorite type of music is hip-hop.
