UREC offers Wellness 101 Programs, which are introductory programs for the different aspects of Wellness. There are numerous opportunities throughout the semester to improve your understanding of personal Wellness by attending educational programs.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a program that is based on relatively intensive training in mindfulness meditation and its applications for coping with stress, pain and the challenges of everyday life. Class will be led by MBSR Instructor and JMU Professor, Dr. Steven Keffer. You do need to attend all of the sessions because the concepts build on one another. Register at the UREC Welcome Center.

Dates: Tuesdays Sept. 29-Nov. 10 and includes an all-day silent retreat on Nov. 7.
Times: 5:15-6:45 in Godwin Multipurpose Studio
Register by: Sept. 28
Cost: There is a $30 registration fee. If you attend all sessions, you will be reimbursed.
