We usually have about 35 members on our roster.

Executive Board

Season
Our regular season starts on the first week of September and ends in November with the National Tournament. We usually play anywhere from 3-5 tournaments in the season, one of which is hosted here at JMU. Teams for the tournaments are selected by player's practice attendance, attitude, devotion, motivation, and focus. We also have a Spring season that starts at the end of February and continues until mid April. This season is primarily to keep players in shape and to have fun. We usually attend 1 - 2 tournaments in the Spring.

Conference
We participate in the National Field Hockey League with over 75 other colleges, specifically the Mason Dixon Division.

Tryouts
Yes. We only do tryouts in the beginning of Fall Semester and it is typically around the second or third week in September. Please check this web site around then for exact dates or attend the Student Org Night and stop by our table for information.

Membership Requirements
We require all members to attend practice, participate in community service, and help fund raise for the team. We take these requirements seriously and expect all members to adhere to them. Our club team is very competitive and everyone must treat our rules and requirements seriously.

Dues
Our dues are typically around $90 per year. These dues are used to completely cover tournament fees, travel expenses, hotels, equipment, and many other expenses. A majority of our funds come from fund raising throughout the year.

Practice Schedule
We practice 4 days per week, 2 of which are at UREC turf and 2 of which are at the ISAT turf. We practice Sunday night, Monday afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, and Friday afternoon. All practices are 2 hours long and involve physical training, individual skill work, team drills, and scrimmaging.

Achievements

• Almost every year we attend Elite 8, which is the national tournament at the end of fall season. Only the 1st place teams from each division and two second place wild cards are invited to this tournament.
