If you are interested in becoming a Group Fitness Instructor for UREC, you need to register for academic coursework prior to applying for the position.
Cardio and Body Sculpt Classes
If you want to teach cardio and body sculpt classes, register for KIN 199 Group Fitness Instructor Training. This class teaches you the fundamental skills needed to teach a safe, effective Group Fitness Class which follows industry guidelines.The course teaches you basic skills for teaching a basic cardio class and body sculpt. This course or a nationally recognized certification are prerequisites to becoming a Group Fitness Instructor at UREC.After completing the course, you will need to apply for the position on joblink and go through an interview.
Mind/Body Classes
If you want to teach mind/body classes, register for KIN 199 Group Fitness Instructor Training: Mind/Body where you will learn skills for teaching Yoga and Pilates. This course is intended to give you the skills to start teaching Yoga and/or Pilates or to strengthen your own practice. This course is a prerequisite to becoming a Mind/Body Instructor at UREC.
