With numerous cardiovascular machines, two complete lines of Cybex equipment, Hammer Strength plateloaded equipment, dumbbells and free weight equipment, the fitness area offers something for everyone. Learn more about our equipment.

UREC also offers drop-in Circuit Training.
Get a fast, efficient workout in Racquetball Court #8! Each circuit is 15 minutes - complete it once, twice or three times! No registration necessary.

Benefits of Circuit Training
Tired of doing the same old workout? Interested in a quick and efficient workout option? Come to this session to find out more about circuit training at UREC and learn why adding this program to your workout can improve both cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance. This lecture-based program is open to all fitness levels and designed for those interested in a new activity at UREC.

Trail Running Clinic
Sponsored by the Sole Source http://www.thesolesource.net/
Come learn about trail running shoes from a Montrail representative and why trail shoes make a difference over regular running shoes. Also, local trail runners Mike and David Frazier will talk about their experiences ultra running from David’s third place finish at the Massanutten 100 to competing in the Leadville 100. They will discuss mental and physical training for these long runs. Additionally, you will learn about Harrisonburg’s trail running club the Rocktown Ridge Runners and local trail running opportunities. Pizza and drinks will be served and there will be an opportunity to win prizes from the Sole Source.
