Climbing
Hidden Rocks Climbing Trip

Take a great hike to a local climbing destination. The 45 minutes hike to the cliff will take you along a mountain stream and through Rhododendron forests. The rock is sandstone and boasts cliffs ranging from 40-100 feet high.  Once there you will be introduced to an exciting outdoor climbing experience lead by our student guides. No prior climbing experience is needed.  All equipment, transportation, and instruction is included.

Experience harmony! Travel to a secluded location for a hike and yoga. We will be traveling by van to Hone Quarry Recreational Area and hike to Hidden Rocks.  These sandstone cliffs provide a beautiful setting for practicing Yoga in a natural setting.  Wear comfortable clothes with sturdy sneakers for the hike in.  Your downward dog will never be better!  All equipment, leaders and transportation is included.
Backpacking Trip to West Virginia

Spend the memorial weekend on the trails in the beautiful West Virginia. We will be exploring Dolly Sods Wilderness Area – which is  about 2 hours from campus and is known for its tundra like landscape and rhododendron forests.  Plan to hike with 50 lb backpacks and spend 2 nights out under the stars or in your tent.  Your trip leaders will teach you how to make amazing meals on your single burner backpacking stove. All food equipment, transportation, and instruction is included in the registration price..  We will return around 8 pm on Sunday night.
Shenandoah River Family Canoe and Camp Trip

Paddle a section of the South Fork with us as the river winds through the mountains. Our trip leaders will teach all you need to know about canoe expeditions.  We will camp overnight at a riverside camp site where our leaders will show you everything from campsite selection an set up and how to cook nutritious meals over you camp stove.  There will be a pre-trip meeting several days before this trip departs give you a chance to ask specific trip questions,  meet other participants and your trips leaders  Equipment, meals, transportation, and instruction are included.


Paddling
Shenandoah River Canoe Trip

Paddle a section of the South Fork with us as the river winds through the mountains.  This section of the Shenandoah winds through rolling hills, pastures, and high limestone cliff bands.  The water is moving and offers several novice level rapids. We will stop at t halfway point and enjoy a riverside lunch. Equipment, lunch, transportation, and instruction are included.

Caving

Spend your Thursday evening exploring one of the Valley's many caves.  We will be exploring Glade Cave in nearby Augusta County.  Glade cave offers a complete beginning cave experience with tight space and large rooms to explore. Glade cave is a limestone cave that is lined with mud so be prepared to get a bit muddy while you experience a whole new world.  All equipment, transportation, and instruction are included.

Join us Wednesday afternoons as we explore some of our amazing local mountain bike trails. Harrisonburg is known for some of the best mountain biking terrain on the east coast.  Its trails are so amazing that the city is home to two Olympic caliber profession mountain bikers. We will be riding a 5 mile loop in the George Washington Forrest around Mud Pond.  If you need a bike we can help you with renting one form a local bike shop.

Come ride with us and be surrounded by the beautiful mountain scenery that the Valley has to offer. We will travel to Keezlenutten Farms in Keezletown where we meet our riding guide and horse. This will be an introductory trail riding excursion.  Horse fee, instruction, and transportation are provided.

Level 1

For those who are new to adventure programs. No required knowledge, skill, or physical ability.
Level 2
No required knowledge or skill related to adventure activities but requires good physical ability.
Level 3
Requiring previous experience and skill in adventure activities and is very physically demanding.
