Are you signed up to get the JMU text message updates? Well now you can sign up to get updates from UREC right to your cell phone! When you register, you have the option to pick as many different areas that you would like updates in; such as different Intramural Sports and Facility updates. UREC does not always operate under the same conditions as JMU and you can be the first to know about any changes. Have an idea about a new message group? Please send us a comment! |
UPDATE 2.28.11: As of February 28, due to provider issues, UREC text messaging will have an interruption in service for an indeterminate amount of time. Please check the UREC homepage for inclement weather information!
How to Register
Registration is easy and online. To register, click here! You are able to select as many message groups to join as you would like.
To stop receiving text messages, login to the Hothands website under the 'My Hothand' area and opt-out of one or more messaging groups that you are currently signed up for. You can also text HOTHAND OPTOUT to 32075.

Inclement Weather Facility Updates*
Receive updates on changing UREC hours due to weather or other circumstances.
IM Sports (Individual Sports)*
Receive updates on weather cancellations and changes to game schedules.
IM Sports Registration Reminders
Receive reminders about all IM Sports Registration Dates.

Receive updates on services (prices, new services) and any specials or deals.
Wellness Tips
Receive wellness tips and program updates periodically.
Nutrition Tips
Receive nutrition tips and program updates periodically.
Hiring Information
Receive updates on student employee positions open at UREC.
