SUSPECT(S): One of the suspects is described a tall thin Hispanic or
African American female wearing a black jacket and jeans
In
compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne
Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus
Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the James Madison
University Police Department is giving notice of a incident involving an
alleged assault of two college aged females on Friday, April 9, 2010.
At
approximately 10:30PM two females were assaulted on campus in the area of Duke
Dr. by another group of females.
The
victims were treated and released from RMH for non-life threatening injuries.
One of the suspects is described as a tall thin Hispanic or African
American female wearing a black jacket and jeans.
The case is still
being actively investigated by law enforcement. Anyone with information
on this incident should contact the James Madison University Police by
telephone at 540.568.6911; in person at the Public Safety Office in Anthony
Seeger Hall, located at the intersection of West Grace and South Main Streets;
or by e-mail to publicsafety@jmu.edu.
Members of the
University community are urged to be vigilant and report any unusual
circumstances and/or suspicious activities/persons immediately to law
enforcement.
