TIME: Early morning hours of Friday, April 18 2008, at approximately 03:30 AM.
SUSPECT: (2) White Males; 19-23 YOA; 5'7"-5'10" Tall; Both wearing khaki shorts and short sleeve shirts.
In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police are giving notice of a incident reported to the Harrisonburg Police Department involving an alleged incident of Attempted Robbery.
The Harrisonburg Police Department is investigating a complaint that occurred Friday morning, April 18, 2008 in the 1500 block of Devon Lane in the Port Republic Road area of Harrisonburg. The male complainant advises that he had been walking along Devon Lane when he was approached by two white males, approximately 19-23 years of age, 5'7" to 5'10" tall, wearing khaki shorts and short sleeve shirts. The victim was asked for his wallet and then assaulted by the two suspects. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident. The two male suspects reportedly fled the area on foot heading East along Devon Lane and have yet to be identified.
This case is still being actively investigated by law enforcement. Members of the University community are urged to be vigilant and report any unusual circumstances and/or suspicious activities/persons.
