OFFENSES: Aggravated Assault & Weapons Violations
LOCATION: 1064 Lois Lane, City of Harrisonburg
TIME: Early morning hours of December 1, 2007, at approximately 04:00 AM.
SUSPECTS: Two white males between the ages of 18-21.
In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police are giving notice of a reported aggravated assault and weapons violation off campus in the area of 1064 Lois Lane, Harrisonburg, VA.
The Harrisonburg Police Department advised that they received a complaint of aggravated assault and weapons violations on Saturday, December 1, 2007. The incident took place around 04:00 AM in the area of 1064 Lois Lane. Two male college students reported that they were walking home in the area of Lois Lane when they were approached by two unidentified white males and questioned about parties in the area. Suspects then allegedly pulled a weapon described as a black handgun and struck both victims with fists and frame of the weapon. Suspects in this incident were described as follows:
#1: White Male, 18-21 YOA, 6’ tall weighing approximately 200 Lbs with short brown hair wearing a white polo button shirt with blue jeans.
#2: White Male, 18-21 YOA, 5’9” tall weighing approximately 180 Lbs with possible brown hair wearing a beige hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Suspects were possibly seen at a bus stop in the 1500 block of Devon Lane approximately 30 minutes prior to this incident. The case is still being actively investigated by law enforcement. Members of the University community are urged to be vigilant and report any unusual circumstances and/or suspicious activities/persons. Until this investigation has been concluded it can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on its property; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn of possible peril at the hands of some third party.
