Winter 2011 - At JMU, we are always looking in the mirror. A continuous process of self-examination informs our desire to become ever better at what we do — educate students. We owe this kind of ongoing attentiveness to our mission, to our students, our employees, our donors, the taxpayers of Virginia and, quite frankly, to intellectual integrity. Creativity and discovery
Spring/Summer 2011 - A moment of sterling clarity and breathtaking beauty occurred on this campus this semester, and I was proud to be a part of it. Francis Collins, chief of the National Institutes of Health and former director of the landmark Human Genome Project, visited JMU to lecture about genetics as part of a yearlong university series on this complex science and its equally complex societal implications. What unities us and pushes us to evolve
Fall 2011 - Each summer at James Madison University, I am reminded of the confluence of tradition and progress that is our hallmark. A few weeks ago, we welcomed the Class of 2011 as our newest Madison alumni. And, we just welcomed the Class of 2015 as our next class of JMU freshmen. Full Text.
