Application Information

This certificate program welcomes applications from:

  •  current undergraduate students who will complete their bachelor’s degrees by May 2009
  •  applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
  •  graduate students currently seeking a degree at JMU

Current JMU graduate students must submit a form requesting admission signed by their graduate advisor.

All other applicants must apply for admission as non-degree-seeking students. There is a $45 application fee and applicants must submit academic transcripts for all their college-level studies.

Application instructions and forms for both current JMU graduate students and all other students are available from the College of Graduate and Outreach Programs website at: http://www.jmu.edu/continuingeducation/certappinstr.shtml. In addition to the online application, please e-mail a one- to two-page personal statement (discussing your background and your motivations for studying international NGOs) to Dr. Charles Blake at blakech@jmu.edu.

The Early Decision Deadline for applications is Monday 12/1/08. This early deadline gives admitted students more time to pursue internship opportunities. The regular application deadline is Monday 2/16/09. After February 16th, applications will be reviewed on a rolling, space-available basis.
