III. PROFESSIONAL READING.  The internship supervisor and the student should choose several books or studies (3 or 4) that are particularly relevant to the mission of the agency.  They may be relevant to the research paper as well.  If possible, these works should be both substantive and methodological/theoretical in nature.  These will be read during the internship by the student, and an evaluative essay of short length will be written and submitted to the internship supervisor and the facultyinternship coordinator.  The final choice of the works should be made in consultation with the faculy internship coordinator  The chosen works chosen are:

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

IV. RESEARCH PROJECT.  The intern will complete a research paper on a topic related to the activity of the agency/office.  The student should develop the topic to be researched in consultation with the internship supervisor and the faculty internship coordinator.  Indicate below the topic(s) under consideration.  In the third week of the internship, submit to the internship coordinator a two-page prospectus which outlines specifically what the paper will do.  The prospectus should include a discussion of methodology, data resources and bibliography.  List possible topics below.
