Biography
Dr. Chris Koski
Assistant Professor of
Political Science

Chris Koski is originally from Kalispell, MT. He obtained a BA in the spring of 2001 in political science while attending Carroll College in Helena, MT. He received his MA (2003) and PhD (2007) from the University of Washington (Peter May, advisor). His dissertation focused on characterizing and exploring variation in state regulatory policy design. He specifically focused his work on the environmental impacts of concentrated animal feeding operations. He has contributed to a diverse range of literatures from quasi-voluntary environmental agreements, to state politics, to decision-making and state budgets. His research interests currently center around public policy - specifically environmental. From 1999 to 2001 he was a field operative for the Montana State Democratic Party.

Dr. Koski teaches a wide range of subjects, but he particularly enjoys teaching undergraduate and graduate methodology. Additionally, his teaching interests lie in American Politics, public policy processes, environmental policy, regulatory policy, and bureaucracy.

Dr. Koski joined the faculty at James Madison University in the fall of 2007.
