Robin Teske, professor of political science, has taught at James Madison University since the fall of 1989. She holds a BA degree in history from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio; a PhD in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia; and a law degree, also from Virginia. She teaches courses in international law and organizations, U.S. foreign policy, international relations, and Peace Studies.   Her most recent publications include an article co-authored with Kay Knickrehm of JMU's POSC Dept., "Attitudes Toward Domestic Violence Among Romanian and U.S. University Students: A Cross Cultural Comparison" (published  in the journal Women and Politics); and Conscious Acts and the Politics of Social Change, a collection of essays co-edited with Mary Ann Tetreault of Trinity University (published by the University of South Carolina Press). In 1998 she was named one of three finalists for the College of Arts and Letters Distinguished Teaching Award; and in the spring of 1999 she was the faculty-member-in-residence for JMU's Washington Semester program. Prior to coming to JMU, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Korea, and an attorney with the Washington, D.C. based International Human Rights Law Group.
