Grammar and Communication
Intensive training in grammatical structures and their application to oral
and written communication. [NOTE: Students who have
already taken SPAN 300 will be placed into SPAN 320 (oral and written
communication) or SPAN 400 (advanced conversation).]

Literature
An introduction to the interpretation of basic literary forms through an
examination of Argentine literature. The course begins with an introduction to
19th-century literature and then focuses on 20th-century
short stories and poetry. [NOTE:
Students desiring GenEd credit will register for this course
as GHUM 200A; students who want Spanish credit (rather than GenEd credit) will register for it as SPAN 446.]
POSC 371 Argentine
Politics & Society
An introduction to Argentine politics and to the larger societal and regional
context in which national politics unfolds.
Special topics include democratization, human rights, economic policy,
and foreign relations.
