Kinesiology major with a concentration in Exercise Science, Physics minor

Yorktown, VA

I am a Kinesiology major at James Madison University with a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in Physics. Post-graduation from JMU, I hope to attend graduate school to work towards a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. I have worked at the John C. Wells Planetarium for almost 2 years and couldn’t imagine a cooler job. Not only do I get to teach about astronomy, but I also get to share my passion for the universe with the Harrisonburg and JMU communities. Before working here, I was terrified of public speaking and had no interest in teaching, but this job has helped to overcome both of these and turn them into great loves of mine. Aside from giving Saturday star talks, I have also been a Space Explorer’s Camp counselor, working with kids interested in STEM fields. I am so incredibly thankful for these opportunities and the growth that I have seen in myself because of John C. Wells Planetarium. I truly love this job!

Fun Facts: I was originally a Physics major before switching to Kinesiology, I love oatmeal raisin cookies, and my favorite constellation is Sirius (probably because Sirius Black is my favorite Harry Potter character)
