The Professor-in-Residence program's goal is to promote James Madison University as a culturally diverse university. The professors in the program all take time out of their schedules to go to Virginia high schools to promote JMU. The professors spend most of their time helping high school students realize that a college education is within their reach. Many students are under false belief that only certain individuals are capable of attaining a college degree. The program will help these students understand how they can become a future college graduate. You can view the topics link to see what issues will be discussed during these presentations. The Professor-in-Residence program is part of the Centennial Strategic Plan developed by the presidential committee.
The time has come to take your last trips to JMU and make decision if JMU is the right place for you. Choices will be holding its last meeting in April before graduation. The centennial scholars program will start its annual search for underrepresented students this summer. If you believe that you are applicable for this scholarship view the following website (Centennial Scholars Program). Remember that the professors of the PIR program are always their to help you with any problems you may be having with the application process.
