Virginia's PBS Teacherline

PBS TeacherLine is the premier professional development resource offering online courses for PreK-12 teachers. Trained, certified facilitators lead six-week courses in Reading/Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Strategies. And online learning is fun, flexible, and collaborative!

All of Virginia's PBS TeacherLine courses are taught by Virginia facilitators, and all other participants are teachers at Virginia schools, so you will be connected to people who understand and face the same issues you do.

JMU credit earned through Virginia Teacherline courses may count toward selected JMU degree programs. Credit for each course would be considered on a case by case basis by the program involved.

To register for these courses and earn graduate credit through JMU:

  1. Register to participate in the course online through Teacherline (http://www.virginiateacherline.org/).
  2. Complete a JMU Non-degree Seeking Student Application (www.jmu.edu/outreach; click on "Apply Online Now.")  Indicate which Teacherline course you are seeking graduate credit for; the list of JMU course numbers can be found below.

For more information about registering for graduate credit, please contact Sarah MacDonald at 540-568-7958 or macdonsk@jmu.edu
