Provisional Licensure Coursework



James Madison University’s College of Education, in partnership
with JMU Outreach & Engagement, is excited to offer
coursework designed to move teachers from provisional to
full licensure. Coursework will be available online or through
other distance education methods. Following successful
completion of the courses, candidates may be recommended
for licensure by their school division.

The courses need to fulfill your full licensure are as follows:

EXED 440: Classroom Management

EDUC 490: Curriculum & Instructional Procedures

READ 440: Literacy Based Learning in Secondary Education

GPSYC 160: Human Growth & Development

EDUC 300: Foundations of Education
