Week 1

Morning Sessions

Ages 6 - 8

Clay-Morph -Smith FULL

Play with clay! Learn basic hand-building techniques such as pinch, slab and coil as you make a ceramic object that can become something else! Caterpillars transform into butterflies, bones create dinosaurs and stones morph into castles. What will your clay become?

Creepy-Crawly Critters - Oh My! -Nesmith

Explore the wild and wacky world of bugs and other critters in this multi-media adventure! We’ll make sculptures, drawings and stampings of our favorite creepy-crawlies and their habitats. Be prepared to get messy as we try to scare ourselves and our fellow artists with our creations!

Drawing with Pencils, Ink and Watercolor! - Gusler

Create original works of art and improve your drawing technique with charcoal, pencil, and pen and ink. Add splashes of watercolor and careful colored pencil. This class will help students learn to look closely and draw what they see.

Ages 6 - 12

PULP IT UP! -Sions

Recycle paper to create paper pulp to make your own paper mache and handmade paper! Handmade paper will then be used to create a variety of projects including origami, books, and paper cut-outs.

Ages 9 – 12

Illuminate -Brooks

Change ordinary objects into lighted works of art. Wax paper, CD cases, artist canvas and more will be transformed into unusual luminaries and glowing creations.

Art of Dance -Miller, Hall

Be transformed through the intersection of dance and visual art. In this class students will learn the basics of different dance forms and create a work of art to be used in the dance performance on the final day.

Swirls and Curls -Goble

It can be found in a seashell, your hand, the keys of a piano, and the tail of a Chameleon. It can even be found in the Mona Lisa. Learn how the Fibonacci Spiral can make REALLY COOL artwork and make some of your own REALLY COOL artwork!

Ages 12 – 17

Repurpose, Reuse, Upcycle! -Shradley

In this class we will be learning about fun ways you can take “trash” and transform it into beautiful works of art. So start collecting buttons, bottle caps, beads, and other fun small odd and ends. We will also be using old books, soda bottles, fabric, and many more supplies. Your imagination will be the limit!

Afternoon Sessions

Ages 6 – 8

Art of Dance -Miller, Hall

Be transformed through the intersection of dance and visual art. In this class students will learn the basics of different dance forms and create a work of art to be used in the dance performance on the final day.

Everything Pirates -Goble FULL

Make and create your very own Sea Monsters, Pirate Maps, Treasure Chest, and a Paper Boat. Your creations will be 2D and 3D and made by transforming a variety of new and used art materials.

Experimenting with Printing -Castrodale

Students will go on the creative journey into printmaking! Learn conventional and unconventional printmaking methods to create multiple masterpieces. Make art from everyday objects by transforming fruit and natural items into beautiful prints.

Ages 9 – 12

I Can’t Believe My Eyes -Brooks

Transforming images using Adobe Photoshop. Learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop as you alter and recreate your own images. This class will challenge multiple levels of computer knowledge. Some projects will even come off the paper!
