The online JMU application – must be completed. Completed applications should be received at least 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester in which the applicant intends to enroll.

Professional reference letters

Two professional reference letters are required and should provide information about applicant’s character, ethical conduct, and ability to perform graduate level work.  At least one letter should be a faculty member at the last institution the applicant attended as a student (unless he has been out of school for more than five years).  A substitute for faculty letter maybe a work supervisor or other person who can comment on applicant’s potential for graduate work.

Essay (personal essay)

A personal essay is required.  It describes why an applicant is interested in pursuing this graduate certificate in cyber intelligence, should be between 450-650 words, and double-spaced.

Transcript (official, undergraduate)

Official transcript of undergraduate degree is required.  Other transcripts (e.g., graduate degrees) are optional. 

Background Check (International applicant)

Background or police check for international applicant is required.
