A free one-day event for middle school aged girls interested in technology. DIGITAL is designed to inspire girls to break limits and explore technology through hands-on activities led by female JMU students. |

WHY: |
Today, women comprise more than half of the U.S. professional workforce, yet over two-thirds of the 1.4 million new IT jobs generated by 2020 could be left unfilled. The lack of women in computing and technology represents a failure to capitalize on the benefits of diverse perspectives. |

We are excited to announce the key note address! Kimberly Mahan is currently the CEO of Maxx Potential and not only is she a successful business executive, but has proven her ability to be an excellent example of what women can achieve in the world of technology. She has a passion for helping people achieve their greatest potential.
Kim started her first website business in 1996 and has been working with emerging technologies ever since. She has held technology positions with global responsibility at GE Corporate and Genworth Financial, worked on multiple tech startups and founded MAXX Potential in 2012 with a goal of providing affordable technology solutions. In 2013, she was the winner of Forbes prestigious distinction, 40 Women To Watch Over 40.
