JMU Test Prep's SAT Preparation programs offer serious preparation for the high stakes undergraduate admissions exams.
James Madison University understands the vital role that college entrance exams such as the SAT play in college admissions. Acceptance into a student’s school of choice can hinge on his or her performance on these high stakes standardized tests. Properly prepared students are more likely to perform to their highest potential, and JMU Test Prep is here to help students in the Shenandoah Valley and Roanoke Valley meet their potential through our SAT Prep courses and SAT Summer Institutes.
SAT Prep courses during the academic year prepare students to reach the exam date of their choice at peak performance. Courses are conveniently scheduled in the weeks leading up to the most popular SAT dates. Students are provided with an in-depth review of the exam materials, insight into strategies for succeeding on standardized tests, and a comprehensive study plan.
The SAT Prep Course includes:
The SAT Test Prep course is designed for students who are dedicated to their personal academic success. This course is ideal for current juniors that may be taking the test for the first time and for those high school students that have already taken the exam but wish to improve their score. Students are expected to actively participate in class and complete assigned homework each week.
The SAT Summer Institute is an intensive test prep program that provides students with the tools they need to prepare for, and ace, the SAT exam. The condensed one-week format is a convenient way for students to develop essential test taking tools. Students are provided with an in-depth review of the exam materials, insight into strategies for succeeding on standardized tests, and a comprehensive study plan.
In addition to receiving four days of intensive preparation during the summer, students also receive access to online review sessions and instructor office hours in the weeks leading up to the exam.
The SAT Summer Institute includes:
The SAT Summer Institute is ideal for students that need an intensive preparation program during the summer. This one-week institute is intensive and requires students to continue to practice their skills in the weeks and months leading up to the exam. Students are expected to actively participate in class and in the online review sessions.
Students generally take the SAT during their junior year of high school. This course is ideal for rising juniors that may be taking the test for the first time and for those high school students that have already taken the exam but wish to improve their scores.
