Transfer Housing

Welcome to JMU's new transfer students! We are pleased to offer incoming spring transfer students the opportunity to join us in the residence halls. Living on campus is a great way to become a part of the Dukes community!

Transfer housing requests are considered on a first come, first served basis. New transfer students will be able to access the housing application after October 31. New transfer students interested in on-campus housing should complete a Housing Application and Contract through the Online Housing System.

Once students electronically sign a housing contract, they have committed to living in a residence hall for the spring semester. you should not sign a housing contract unless you are 100% certain about living on campus.

New transfer students who sign housing contracts will be assigned to an upperclass room in the following buildings: Chandler, Chesapeake, Converse, Frederikson, Logan, Oak, Rockingham, Shenandoah, White and Willow. Students living in JMU residence halls will be required to select a residential meal plan. For more information go to Card Services.

In the event that you are not offered a housing contract, you should secure off-campus housing. You can find information about off-campus properties and helpful resources at the Off Campus Life Office.

Questions or concerns should be directed to the Housing Office at (540) 568-4663 or res-life@jmu.edu
