Room Assignments
Room assignments are handled by the Housing Office, located in A section of Huffman Hall. The Housing Office is also responsible for administering housing applications and contracts for all on-campus students. It is our goal to offer as many housing contracts as possible to interested students while efficiently managing residence hall occupancy. Our office also processes all room change requests submitted by residents.
Incoming first year students are guaranteed on-campus housing. First year students who begin in the fall semester are guaranteed housing for the academic year. First year students that join JMU in the spring will be housed only for the spring semester.
We strive to house new transfer students on a space available basis, but we are unable to guarantee housing for transfers. More information about transfer housing can be found on the Transfer page.
