What to Leave Behind
To ensure the safety of all of our students, JMU prohibits the use of the following items in residence hall rooms:
- Appliances with open heating elements
- Curtains and valances that have not been treated and tagged as fire retardant
- Candles
- Duct tape
- Extension cords
- George Forman grill
- Guns, including paintball guns or any form of BB gun
- Halogen lamps
- Incense
- Knives
- Microwave ovens (allowed in Rockingham Hall)
- Pets
- Room air conditioners
- Room heaters
- Toasters
- Toaster ovens
- Weapons
- Wireless routers and hubs
