Chandler Hall is named for Wallace L. Chandler of Richmond, a former rector for the JMU Board of Visitors.

Chandler rooms are arranged in suites with two students to a room. Two suites share a community bath, which is cleaned on a regular basis by housekeeping staff. There are also limited single and double rooms with private bathrooms, which are cleaned by the residents. Chandler also houses Mrs. Greens, Lakeside Express and a computer lab.

Chandler has kitchens with microwaves, study lounge, TV lounge, elevator, student storage and laundry facilities on each floor. Wireless internet access is available near the study lounge on the first floor.
