Congratulations on Your Acceptance!
How to decide
We are excited that you may join the Madison campus community, but we recognize that you have other options. Decisions can be tough and we want to make sure that your decision to transfer to JMU is well informed. Be sure to consider the following:

Paying your deposit
Included in your acceptance packet is an invoice used to pay your tuition deposit. Paying this deposit is your official way of accepting our offer of admission; your deposit is credited toward your tuition bill. Your deposit must be postmarked by the deadline indicated on the invoice in your admission packet. Once your deposit is received and processed, you'll start to receive additional information from key offices at the university that are ready to welcome you to JMU!
Click here to pay your $250.00 deposit by credit card. It typically takes 72 hours after you pay your deposit for it to clear our system.
You may also send your deposit by check. It is very important that you mail your deposit to JMU in the envelope provided. Please be sure that your deposit is postmarked by the deadline. We will accept your deposit sent regular mail with a postmark on or before the noted deadline in your acceptance packet. If you have misplaced your deposit envelope please contact the Office of Admissions for advice and guidance.
Financial aid
The 2008-2009 FAFSA priority filing deadline was March 1, 2008. If you have not already done so, complete your application immediately here. JMU's Title IV Federal School Code is 003721.
If you have already filed 2008-09 FAFSA and you did not list JMU on it, please contact the Department of Education at 1-800-4-FED-AID to request JMU be added as a school you would like to attend. Once that is completed, the federal processing center will send your FAFSA information to JMU. If your original FAFSA had reached the federal processor by the March 1 priority filing date, then that information will be seen at JMU once your FAFSA is received.

Majors
JMU offers an amazing array of majors. The key is determining if the major you are interested in pursuing is a good fit with your interests, skills, academic career and timeline for graduation. Our majors web page is replete with resources, so head on over and spend some time reviewing the information. This is an important part of your decision making process.
Transfer Credit Evaluation
You'll be receiving a copy of your transfer credit evaluation in the mail a few weeks after you receive your admission packet. Please take a look at that closely. More information can be found on the Prepare for Orientation web page.
