Welcome back to JMU! Take some time to relax and get to know your ANT, TOPA, and other transfer students in your group. Get any questions answered, swing by the vendor and resource fair for some food, and get ready for Transfer 1787 August Orientation!
12:15 -1:00 p.m. Dr. Amato Quick Q & A*
Here's your chance to get your questions answered about your fall course schedule, transfer credit evaluation, and learn other important details. If you need to appeal transfer credits, this is the place to come with your previous course syllabus!
1:15 -2:00 p.m. Ride in Style*
Did you know that the average JMU student spends over $40 a month commuting to and from campus? Harrisonburg Transit will be presenting a program to discuss ways in which you could benefit from public transportation. Learn about the routes they offer and get a lesson on how to read a schedule. Your wallet will thank you!
2:00 -3:30 p.m. Dollars & Sense
Concerned about having enough money to make it through college? This interactive session will walk you through the process of developing a cash flow plan while also helping you understand how the financial choices you make in college will have an impact on the rest of your life. Bring a pencil and a calculator.
3:30 - 4:00 p.m. How to Do Research @ JMU*
Come find out how to navigate JMU's libraries. Valuable information will be provided on how to get the most out of the research databases and references available to you!
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. JMU Job 101*
Looking for a job to put a little change in your pocket? Or even better, help pay your tuition? Whether you're looking for work experience on- or off-campus, work-study or not, staff from the Student Work Experience office will provide you with many resources on finding a job that's right for you.
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Beyond JMU's Borders*
JMU's borders extend well beyond Harrisonburg. Studying abroad provides unique opportunities and an enriching learning experience. Learn everything you need to know about JMU's study abroad opportunities and how to incorporate study abroad into your academic plan!
5:30 7:30 p.m. Dinner & Pep Rally Pump Up, The Commons
Grab dinner with your ANTs then come out to The Commons to get P-U-M-P-E-D for the Pep Rally.

J-M-U DUUUUKES! The stadium will be rocking as you meet sports teams, the award-winning JMU Marching Royal Dukes, and more!
Festival Fun Night
9 p.m. 12:00 a.m. Madison Casino Night, Festival Ballroom
Try your luck at a night filled with cards, dice, music, and fun! The Festival Ballroom will be packed with blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette tables for your enjoyment. Raffle tickets will be provided to each student who attends and prizes will be raffled off throughout the night.
9 p.m. 12:00 a.m. Guitar Hero Tournament, Festival Highlands Room
Can you rock with the best of 'em? Prove it. Come downstairs to the Highlands Room, grab some friends, and show off your ability to wail on that guitar!

Check out a late night JMU tradition. While eating, be sure to catch a performance by nationally known comedian Tim Gabrielson, whose hilarious act combines comedy and magic for a truly unforgettable show.
12:00 a.m. Madison @ Midnight, Village Courtyard
Eat, dance and play volleyball until the sun comes up! Cure your late-night snack cravings with free pizza, hang out with your friends, and ask the DJ to put a record on and play your favorite songs.

Here's an invitation to see JMU through the eyes of current students and alumni, and uncover the common thread that defines various Madison experiences through creative forms of expression and dialogue. "WE are JMU" highlights the similarities, differences, and perspectives that create the JMU Community.

Bring a blanket and park yourself in front of the most amazing performance of the year. Jason LeVasseur will warm you up with a pre-performance show. As the sun goes down, enjoy some of JMU's finest a cappella, dance, step groups, and more!
8:00 p.m. 12:00 a.m. Open Mic Night, Taylor Down Under
Enjoy a show from New and Improv'd, JMU's only improvisational comedy troupe, then get ready for a fun-filled night. Bring your guitar, your poetry, your voice, or anything else for Open Mic Night. Then explore TDU and find out why so many students love to hang out here between classes.
10:30 p.m. 12:30 a.m. Hypnotist Michael C. Anthony, Convocation Center
VH1 called Michael C. Anthony "the best stage hypnotist on the planet!" Volunteers from the audience transform into celebrities by falling in love with broomsticks, taking an imaginary trip to the Bahamas and even speaking in Martian. See the show or be the show!

11:00 a.m. Transfer Student Convocation & Brunch*, Festival Highlands Room
This memorable event will mark the beginning of your new life at JMU as we celebrate the accomplishments and experiences you bring to this learning community. Be inspired by words of transfer students that have come before you and JMU administrators that support the Transfer Experience. Be sure to be present for the Grand Prize Drawing.
Following Convocation, Campus Tours*
An ANT once said, "There's nothing more embarrassing than walking into the wrong class!" Take a campus tour to learn shortcuts through campus and how to get to those hard-to-find classrooms.
