Assistant Director of Orientation Programs Position

The Orientation Office seeks an Assistant Director of Programs to coordinate summer and fall orientation programs for all incoming students. Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to plan, implement and assess all aspects of approximately 20 one-day Summer Springboard sessions  (roughly 4 Transfer and 16 First-year sessions) that serve about 5,000 new students and 9,000 guests, and December Orientation to serve 50-200 transfer students. Coordinate JMU's extensive and dynamic fall welcome week program for all first-year and transfer students to facilitate their academic and social integration into the university.


Preferred qualifications: A master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field.  Minimum two years of professional experience, removed from graduate school, in higher education settings particularly in student affairs; orientation, first year and/or transfer experience programs strongly preferred.


Compensation: mid to high 30's
