James Madison University will offer you a one-of-a-kind Orientation experience that will help you (students and family members) make JMU your home. There are several phases to the First Year Orientation 2008 experience at JMU. 

One Book (April/May) – Orientation Guidebook

Orientation – Summer Springboard (June/July), register for classes

Orientation – 1787 (August)

 

 

One Book (April/May)

All admitted first year students who have paid their $250.00 deposit will receive a One Book beginning in April 2008. The One Book contains everything you need to begin your life at Madison. Use the One Book to complete all the required steps to get your orientation registration, housing and new life set-up at JMU.

Orientation – Summer Springboard (June/July)
All admitted first year students who have paid their $250.00 tuition deposit will attend a one-day Orientation program in June or July 2008. You may make your reservations for the ONE-day Summer Springboard experience on one of the following dates:

June 23, 24, 26, 27, 30

July 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15 and 16.

Beginning in early April 2008 after you receive your One Book, submit your reservations for this ONE-day Orientation program through the following link: One Book.

 

Orientation – 1787 (August)

1787 August Orientation is August 20-24, 2008.  First Year Students will make the big move into their residence hall at the beginning of 1787 August Orientation on either Tuesday, August 19th or Wednesday, August 20th. Following move-in first year students will participate in the next phase of Orientation, an exciting five-day experience. Students will get involved in their new community, meet new friends, learn how to be successful from faculty and advisers, experience the diversity of JMU with First yeaR Orientation Guides (FROGs) and attend exciting programs that will teach them what life at JMU is really about. No additional registration is necessary.

 
Classes begin on August 25, 2008.
