Faculty members are integral to orienting the newest members of our community to the academic expectations of the JMU learning community. As students make the transition from high school to college, it’s essential that they learn how the expectations of the college classroom are different from that of a high school classroom. It’s important that students understand that learning takes place in the classroom, as well as beyond the classroom, and that they bare the responsibility for the depth and scope of their learning experience.
The Orientation Office wants to partner with teaching faculty members to introduce incoming students to the JMU college classroom. Currently, we are in need of 150 PREFACE faculty members!
