Edith Carrier Scholarship
Each spring semester since 1988, the JMU Womens Club has awarded an academic scholarship in honor of former JMU first lady, Edith Carrier. The $1000 scholarship is presented by the Women's Club in recognition of the scholastic achievements of a full-time JMU student who is the child of any full-time JMU employee and who holds the class standing of a second semester freshman through a second semester junior.
The JMU Women's Club is currently accepting applications for the 2004 Edith Carrier Scholarship. Any application must include: complete name, current address, phone number, JMU employee connection, major, academic level (Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) and current cumulative GPA; and a brief essay detailing what the JMU community means to the student and his or her family.

The JMU Womens Club is a diverse group with a common interest in James Madison University. As a service and social organization, the club shares ideas, fosters friendships, and makes a difference in the community. At club meetings, through special interest groups and service projects, the club works toward common goals on important university and community issues. From its beginning in 1948 until today, the JMU Womens Club has remained committed to building community spirit, encouraging friendships and enriching special projects that benefit the University.
