Awards and Honors
The Bluestone has been receiving national recognition for the past decade. Numerous organizations have acknowledged The Bluestone’s excellence with honors and awards. In the past decade, The Bluestone has received numerous Gold Circle, Best of Show, Apple, and Silver Crown awards. Most notably, The Bluestone has taken home four Gold Crown awards and four Pacemaker awards.
The Gold Crown is given by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The Association was founded in 1925 and has been giving out the Gold Crown, theirr most pretigous award, since 1982. It is awarded for overall excellence, and The Bluestone has received the award four times in the last eight years. Additionally, the Pacemaker Award, granted by the Associate Collegiate Press since 1925, is considered the highest honor a yearbook can receive. The Bluestone has been a finalist twice and won the award three times in the last eight years.
