Class Council 2001-2002
RESPONSIBILITIES
OF CLASS COUNCIL OFFICERS Extracted from the SGA Constitution and Class Council Rules and Regulations President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Representative
· Preside over and plan Class Council meetings · Serve as the representative of his/her respective class at all functions that require attendance · Coordinate all activities and functions within the respective class. · Represent class views by becoming a voting Senator for the class and may draft bills from their respective class regarding issues directly affecting them. · Report activities of class council to senate on a periodic basis · Keep accurate record of events and meetings that coincide with those held by the Secretary. · Meet regularly with the Director of Class Government (VPSA) to discuss the progress of the Class Council · Submit event recap forms to the Director of Class Government and the SGA Executive Assistant following the completion of any event or project.
· Preside over Class Council meetings in the President’s absence. · Assume the office of President if that officer vacates the office. · Assist the President in the planning and facilitation of class activities. · Must sit on at least one Senate committee. · Serve as the official liaison between the respective class and the recognized Clubs and Organizations. · Coordinate the class committee chairpersons.
· Handle all monetary transactions and keep accurate records of all transactions for the respective classes. · Give monthly spending reports to the DCG and SGA Treasurer. · Serve as a special representative by attending one senate meeting a month. · Give a Treasurer’s report at all Class Council and Class meetings. · Work closely with the Fundraising Committee Chairperson on fundraising projects.
· Keep an accurate record of Class Council meetings. · Record the minutes of Class Council meetings. · Give a copy of the minutes and attendance to the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Executive Assistant within two weeks of the meeting. · Post a copy of the minutes in the SGA office. · Handle all correspondence. · Serve as a special representative by attending one senate meeting a month.
· He/she shall represent their residency and/or college. · He/she shall attend all Class Council meetings of his/her class. · He/she shall assist with Class Council activities.
