Welcome to Romanian Club!
| Hi! I'm Sandy! I'm a sophomore at JMU majoring in
French and Speech Communications. My interests include
learning new languages and traveling. Most recently, I
was in Romania with a group of about 10 more JMU
students. I founded JMU's Romanian Club in the Spring of 1996 in the hopes of getting students with similar interests together. These interests include Romanian language, culture, politics and more, concerning Romania, Moldova and nearby countries. In just this past semester and a half, we have seen a great success in the estabilishment of our club , attracting many individuals from different areas of study within the university. |

We have bi-weekly meetings, helping the club to share new ideas and learn new things.
A great addition to our meetings is the Romanian students participating in an exchange student program between James Madison University and the Romanian American University in Bucharest. They are able to share their first-hand experiences with the club as well as give us the inside scoop of happenings in Romania and other Central and East European Countries.
The Romanian Club wants to provide all the interested students and individuals with information on economic, politic and turistic environment in this area. We also try to develop interesting programs, to have fun and, -- the most important -- to build friendship.
In addition to the Romanian Club, JMU will begin a Romanian class in the Fall of 1997 or Spring 1998.
We would love any ideas you may be able to share with us!
