  • Hobbies: reading, writing, socializing, being funny! (Well, I try to be funny!)

  • Least favorite clarinet-related activity: trying to play the Eb clarinet in tune with the soprano saxophone! ( this happened in Wind Symphony this semester! ) Believe me it's hard!
  • Memorable Experience:My senior year in high school, I got into the All-State Orchestra and we played Mahler's 1st Symphony. It was so amazing (even though the performance could have been better). Plus I got to sit next to Catherine Sipher!

  • Favorite thing about JMU: Wonderfully diverse, engulfing environment. Beautiful landscaping. Lots of flowers to pick.

  • Clarinet Joke: How many clarinet players does it take to change a light bulb? One, but he has to go through the box to find a good bulb.
  • Least favorite clarinet-related activity: (practicing! just kidding!) swabbing-it's disgusting!
  • Memorable Experience: The most memorable performance opportunity was Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra. I learned how to play poker! Also how to blend with an orchestra. I don't know about high school stuff.... I was an All-State auditionee for 3 years, and I finally made it my senior year. I was second chair in both District Band and Greater Richmond Youth Wind Ensemble. I was first chair in my school for three years.

  • Memorable Experience: One of my most favorite performances was with the All-State Orchestra my senior year. We played Mahler No. 1 and it was my first opportunity to perfom with John Blair. Yeah for John Blair!
