The winner of the 1999/2000 edition of the MBA Professor of the
Year Award is Dr. Cathy Sullivan.
She teaches MBA 620 - Accounting for Decision Making and Control.
Congratulations!
GBA
wants to reinstate the MBA Professor of the Year
Award. Each year, the MBA students will have the opportunity to
vote for their favorite professor, based on clearly defined professional
criterions. The purpose of the MBA Teaching Award is to reward excellency
in teaching and tocontribute towards the improvement of JMU MBA program.
At this point we need to have your nominations for the 1999-2000 edition.
Our
most important goal is to help the JMU MBA program gain the recognition
it deserves. We intend to introduce us and the JMU MBA program to local
and nationwide corporations and to invite them to present themselves, with
the final aim of creating a mutually beneficial communication channel between
the graduate students and the corporate word. Weather you are a company
in search of MBA talents or a graduate student interested in finding out
more about the corporate world, do not hesitate to contact
us!
GBA
intends to launch the an email Newsletter intended to cover the latest news
about the MBA program, business and career opportunities. The GBA Newsletter,
will also include business and financial news, discounts and special offers,
reviews of interesting MBA related websites, and so much more. If you are
interested in receiving the GBA Newsletter, please sent us an email
with the word "subscribe" in the subject line.
Another
project that GBA works on is a WebBoard called "FORUM". This is
a list of discussions open to all JMU students and particularly to our fellows
enrolled in the MBA program. Since most of us are professionals living in
different cities throughout Virginia, meeting in person is very difficult.
That's why we want to offer everybody an opportunity to express their thoughts
and ideas, to meet fellow students, to socialize and make friends, by participating
to this WebBoard.
We
want to grow and to improve ourselves. As a student organization, GBA can
better represent the interests of its members. Therefore we strongly encourage
the MBA students to enroll in GBA in order to make new contacts, benefit
from membership opportunities, and add more extracurricular experience to
their education. Needless to say that all MBA students - part-time or full
time - are welcome to join us. All ideas and comments about how to make
GBA more effective and more representative are welcome.
