Professional Development Fund: Purpose: In the fall of
1991 the Faculty Womenís Caucus created a
professional development fund. The fund was established to
provide financial support for members of the Caucus who are
in need of funds to pursue or complete research, as well as
support for additional activities that would advance
professional growth. There is no restriction on the focus of
the project. Funding may be applied to conference travel,
publication costs, research expenses but is not restricted
to these endeavors. It is the intention of the Caucus to
provide a small ($200.00) grant to one or two members each
academic year. Application Procedures: The original proposal and four copies must be submitted to the Executive Board of the Caucus by April 12, 1999. Please send proposals and an abbreviated curriculum vita to Judith A. Flohr Department of Kinesiology MSC 2302 JMU. Acknowledgments: Any publication or exhibition resulting from activity assisted by these funds should indicate: "This work was supported by the James Madison University Faculty Women's Caucus Professional Development Fund." Format: Narrative: The narrative should include the following, however the proposal is not restricted to these items. The narrative should not exceed three double-spaced typewritten pages. 1. Describe
clearly and briefly the project. If the project involves either
human subjects (IRB JMU Policy 1:01:06) or live,
vertebrate animals( JMU Policy VI:01:02) the proposal
must be accompanied with the appropriate recognition
of these policies. Notification: Recipients will notified on or before April 20, 1999. Recipients are encouraged to receive the grant in person at the picnic on April 29, 1999. |
