Šestorka

Serbian dance, short lines in a basket hold, left arm over and right arm under.

Part one:

1                   R to R

2                   L over R

3                   R to R

4                   L over R

5                   R to R

6                   L over R

7                   R stomp (shout “HOO!)

8                   L stomp (shout “HA!)

This can be repeated as many times as you like at the beginning of the dance.  It can be done only once if that’s what you like.  If there are lots of people dancing it, it looks nice (especially for performances) to have several lines with their timing staggered.  Only do part one more than once at the very beginning of the dance.  The rest of the dance is just part one - part two - part three.

Part two:

1                   R to R

2                   L over R (lean weight onto L but don’t travel)

3                   R behind L

4                   hop on right

5                   L to L

6                   R over L (stomp)

7                   L to L

8                   R behind L (these last few steps have been a mayim or grapevine step)

Part three:

1                   L to L

2                   R over L, take weight but not direction

3                   L behind R

4                   hop on left

5-8           repeat 1-4 on R

9-16      repeat 1-4

And here the dance begins again.  Remember!  If you choose to repeat part one in the beginning, it ONLY repeats in the beginning!  For the rest of the dance each part is done only once in a row.
