Duke of Kent’s Waltz

Colonial dance, much like a Contra dance.  Done in a proper longways set.  It’s a waltz so the numbers below refer to 1-2-3’s.  Take hands four from the top.

1-4           right hands across, walk clockwise

5-8           back with the left

9-10      ones slide down the inside of the set twice, both hands joined

11-12 ones slide back up

13-16 ones cast below twos

17     right hands with your partner

18     balance toward each other; away

19-20turn her under joined hands

21     balance toward your partner, trade to L hands

22     balance away

23-24turn her under joined hands

25-28 take R hands with the person diagonally to your right, walk once around

29-32 L hands with partner, once around

Ones look down the set and twos look up to the next couple.
